Meta Unveils Exciting Updates for Threads Including Reply Controls, Topic Tagging for Posts, and Option to Replicate X Followers

Tech giant Meta just rolled out a series of exciting new updates for its Threads app.

The Twitter clone will now include some innovative changes and we’ve enlisted all of them for you below. For starters, users are getting the chance to include a specific topic that interests them on profiles.

This means you get the chance to highlight any subject that intrigues you and something you adore posting about. At the same time, you’ll find custom tags on your profile that encourage more people to follow you, based on your interests.

The change is huge and could see a massive expansion of the platform because it gives users the chance to follow someone with whom they share similarities. Before, due to the nature of the algorithm, it was so hard to determine who was genuine and which posts were something you could relate to. After all, everything depended upon in-app activity.

Creators can soon see their follower counts go up and it’s something the platform has been working on for a while now. So be prepared to see your follower numbers pump up after this change is rolled out.

Whenever the profile visitor clicks on the topic tags, they will get to see more chats about that subject. The app also now wants to add prompts that serve as suggestions of what’s trending. It might even have to do with a post you’ve shared with others in the past.

The goal seems to be the fact it can spark more relatable chats and motivate others to add keynotes to discussions that spark more engagement. As per internal data, posts getting tagged topics usually attain more views than those without one. It’s a great way to help you reach out to your audience.

The app is also rolling out some more post-control features. This enables you to select who and how users can engage with updates. As per Alessandro Paluzzi, Threads wants to make it so much simpler to follow similar profiles on the platform that they follow across X.

It’s just like X where users control how people entertain updates. This is essential in terms of safety for users. This is also worth mentioning how users might limit the number of people engaging as settings allow you to restrict the feature to only followers.

There is also news about Threads adding more political control features. This is a reverse decision from what we’ve seen in the past. Before, Threads aimed to remove all content linked to politics. After seeing the great popularity of X, it seems like they’re trying their luck in this domain as well.

There will now be a new option that says Creators from X. So you can simply replicate the list for Threads. It will similarly guide you about how to install your X follower details and upload content to the Threads app.
