Global Brand Value Hits $80 Trillion: Who's Winning and Who’s Losing in 2025?

A recent analysis of global brand value, including intangible assets such as intellectual property and research and development, reveals that it has reached a record-breaking $80 trillion in 2024. This growth highlights the massive role of brands in shaping the global economy. To measure this influence, the world’s 50 most valuable brands were ranked based on factors like consumer perception, brand strength, and strategic investments, with insights drawn from over 175,000 global survey responses.

According to the rankings, Apple tops the list with a $574.5 billion brand value, with an 11% annual change in its brand value. It is followed by Microsoft with a $461.1 billion brand value.

Google is the third top brand in terms of brand value with a $413 billion total value. Amazon ($356.4 billion) and Walmart (137.2 billion) are also among the top five most-valued brands. This shows that the top five spots go to the US, while South Korea’s Samsung Group takes the sixth position with a $110.6 billion brand value. Other brands in the top ten list include TikTok/Douyin ($105.8 billion), Facebook ($91.5 billion), NVIDIA ($87.9 billion), and State Grid Corporation of China ($85.6 billion).

If we talk about fastest fastest-rising brands, NVIDIA tops the list, with $87.9 billion in brand value in 2025. It is followed by Chanel and Walmart with $37.9 billion and $132.7 billion brand value in 2025 respectively. Chanel has passed Louis Vuitton as the most valuable luxury brand in 2025, with a 45% change in brand value.

The fastest declining brands in 2025 are Starbucks and Tesla because of various reasons. Starbucks’s brand value declined 36% in 2025 while Tesla’s brand value saw a decrease of 26%. Mercedes-Benz (-11%), Shell (-10%), and Porsche (-5%) are also some brands with the fastest declining brand value.
