OpenAI has just made its ChatGPT even better with some exciting new features and the rollout of a more advanced GPT-4o model.
The tech giant left plenty of users smiling with a long-requested feature that users can benefit from. This includes the ability to reference different internal knowledge sources. It’s up for grabs for the company’s paid tiers called ChatGPT Team. Therefore, users get the chance to link internal knowledge databases to the app during a beta phase. Through this means, users can benefit from company-specific data. So businesses can benefit more from greater replies to queries.
The feature allows users to perform great semantic searches of the data and then link directly to various internal sources to get replies. This way, team users can benefit from the most updated information of what they’re looking for. It also ensures the model comprehends the internal business lingo better.
For now, the admins for the ChatGPT Team can link Google Drive with ChatGPT. But one product manager found at OpenAI shared through a post on LinkedIn how the team is busy working on a new wave of connectors that support all internal sources of knowledge, like CRMs and even data analytics apps. One of the best parts is how the model acquires their unique language, specific names, and team terminology. At the same time, it’s still respecting the user permissions so the replies remain grounded in the right material.
But that’s not all! The makers of ChatGPT just shared a new update for the advanced GPT-4o model. This will power the famous AI assistant. The new update will share better improvements over the classic GPT-4o model rolled out in January.
As shared by the tech giant, the new model can follow instructions in detail better. This is true for prompts featuring several requests in one go. Similarly, it can follow prompts entailing more complex tech and coding issues. So the model is really delivering replies with better intuition, fewer emojis, and more creativity.
The company’s CEO tweeted more about the improvements in the latest update that are needed and also spoke about more similar advanced updates arriving soon. This new model is now available to those with paid tiers, but free users can get the update over the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned.
If you’re a developer, the latest model is accessible through ChatGPT-4o’s newest API. The company also hopes to extend the changes to older models through the API over the next couple of weeks.
So far, the company is on a roll as the GPT-4o model hit the second position, going beyond the GPT-4.5 that was shared last month. Compared to the model’s previous subtype, this one is doing better, getting a 30-point higher score.
It’s also increased in rankings for math, coding, and hard prompts. So as the tool continues to reinvent itself, we hope to see it get even better in the future.
