The latest update from Elon Musk’s xAI has to do with a new voice mode for premium paying users.
The company is doing great at the moment with the AI Chatbot’s downloads rising ten times in the week after we saw the launch for Grok-3. Furthermore, the number of daily active users on the app also rose five times over the week.
The stats come to us thanks to Sensor Tower while we have to admit that the true usage can only be determined after several months, once the hype surrounding the launch settles down. Moreover, the use of Grok’s functional updates will similarly be more evident with time.
The company says the newest Grok 3 model is the most modern AI system out there in the market. It hopes that this can drive more users to sign up for X Premium to access altering AI tools. The company is also putting its SuperGrok access tier on offer so users can make the most of the latest functions on this system.
Grok updates are still on the way with Musk sharing that more exciting new features are in the pipeline. As far as the latest voice mode is concerned, you get the chance to ask queries aloud and have it reply by reading replies through AI-based voice.
xAI shared that the voice mode was one of the few secondary elements that it happened to be working on for the release. It’s making the effort to have it available to all, adding that more options for engaging with the AI chatbot would be possible soon.
Grok also has an innovative logo that is one of many logo variants revolving around the app. However, this is now the main one portrayed on this Grok profile found on X. In combo with the company’s government rationalization, we could soon see xAI combined into government processes for better efficiency. So far, it’s looking great for Musk and his ambitious AI efforts.
It’s all fine until Meta and OpenAI opt to share a new and more powerful model that might take us all by surprise and we don’t think that day is far. Remember, the competition in this industry is tough. You are working against some big players in the industry, whose platforms have more usage than X.
The app’s growth is serious and the general interest in the chatbot is quite lukewarm. Meta did report that its AI chatbot currently has 700M monthly users and that’s greater than the total combined audience we have on X. So the question remains how Musk and Co plan to keep the feature relevant in today’s day and age.
Seeing Elon Musk’s greater interest in the world of politics has certainly helped all of his businesses, especially X. But many are skeptical that it might pave the way to more censorship that favors Musk more than anyone else.
