Instagram Beats Facebook in Q1 2025 as Brands’ Preferred Platform for Marketing

Digiday conducted a survey for Q1 2025 and found that 96% of the brands and retailers use Instagram as compared to 86% who use Facebook. Instagram and Facebook are the most used Meta platforms and have always competed when it comes to their usage among brands and retailers. In Q3 2024, most of the brands and retailers were using Facebook the most (98%) as compared to the ones using Instagram (95%). In Q1 2024, Instagram was winning the race with 96% of brands using it as compared to Facebook with 93% usage among brands and retailers.

It was also found that most brands and retailers find Instagram the strongest for driving conversions and branding. 42% of the brands and retailers agreed that Instagram is the best platform for driving conversions while 64% said that it's best for branding.

On the other hand, 33% of the brands and retailers said that Facebook is the best platform for driving conversions, which makes it the second best platform for this purpose behind Instagram. On the other hand, Facebook isn't the second-best choice when it comes to branding for marketers. Followed by Instagram, most brands and retailers chose YouTube (13%), and TikTok (12%) as the platforms good for branding. Facebook was in fourth position with only 9% of brands and retailers choosing it as the best platform for branding.
