Microsoft Reverts Bing Image Creator Update After User Complaints

Microsoft has rolled back its Bing Image Creator AI model update, PR16, to the earlier PR13 version after widespread user dissatisfaction. The new model, introduced to generate higher-quality images at faster speeds, faced criticism for significant drops in realism and detail.

The decision follows complaints on platforms like X and Reddit, where users highlighted the decline in image quality. Microsoft confirmed the reversion, noting that the deployment of PR13 is ongoing and could take up to three weeks to complete fully.

The PR16 update was announced on December 18 as part of efforts to improve Bing Image Creator’s performance and integration within Bing search. However, the disappointing results left users frustrated, impacting their productivity and experience with the tool.

By addressing the issue, Microsoft aims to restore user confidence and deliver the promised improvements to content creators relying on Bing Image Creator for high-quality visuals.
