Meta’s Reality Labs Division Exceeded All Sales and Usage Targets in 2024

Meta might not seem to be too convincing about its push for the metaverse and VR but we promise you that stats don’t lie.

The company just shared its latest report for the Reality Labs division which includes AR and VR. This is where it was proven how all sales and usage targets for last year were exceeded which is a major win for the organization.

Many used to assume that Meta was wasting funds on this domain, thanks to the large number of investments made on some next-level designs. The figure exceeded $50 billion over the last few years. However, Meta feels that such an investment will give rise to a better future for the tech giant and its dominance in this sector.

Reality Labs managed to grow sales by 40% last year thanks to the popularity linked to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses that assist in driving the adoption of new products. We saw Ray Ban get a major upgrade in December which was perfectly timed for the holiday season.

Now that Meta has also included its chatbot into glasses, and made it up for grabs in a hands-free mode, the popularity and demand are on the rise. The company is sharing real-time options for language translations so you can be on the move in a different country and make the most of this.

There are also other features like video recording with audio playback options. We hope the bigger AI hype will give rise to more adoption and push sales to an even bigger figure than what we might have expected in the past.

Meta really has high hopes linked for this product as its CEO shared that it just might go above the popularity of smartphones as an ideal medium for connectivity with Meta leading the landscape for this tech platform. As far as figures are concerned, Zuckerberg could be correct.

Quest VR headsets did get a great boost during the holiday period and the Horizon app hit the top of the charts through the App Store in America and the United Kingdom. Everything is all so sudden and seeing Meta be very open about the matter is great as the metaverse is a decade away.

Still, the fact that there is a solid foundation in place means so much that advanced functionality gives valuable utilities to many people’s everyday lives. Whatever the case may be, it’s hard to bet on everything right now. But slowly, AR and VR might be giving rise to endless possibilities in the future.

The news comes as the company makes some serious changes to the management infrastructure to show more support for this product. An internal memo shared spoke about new appointments in the Metaverse project.

All these new changes are said to be aligned with the firm’s bigger drive for revenue in AR and VR. This will boost up in a major manner after the launch of its AR glasses and VR headsets.
