Glimmer of Hope for TikTok After Donald Trump Expresses Support for the App

The TikTok ban is set to take center stage in the US which many people aren’t happy about. However, there might be a little hope that the company could be saved thanks to the new President-elect Donald Trump.

The firm is trying its best to lean into the good side of Donald Trump after a recent graphic from TikTok was published by the new President-elect on his Truth Social app. It was made by TikTok and featured all of Trump’s major highlights. Trump certainly appreciated the love and captioned the post with, ‘Why would I want to get rid of TikTok?’

The move was certainly a reminder to many about how Trump used to promote the platform in the past despite announcing plans for a sell-off when he became President during his previous term.

Seeing this and his greater support for the popular social media app might see him reverse the ban made by the Biden administration, now that he’s a star on the platform.

Now this does not have anything to do with the long list of national security issues that prompted American senators to promote the sell-off of the TikTok bill. Still, the app is holding on by a thread and is doing everything in its power to be saved. If that means flattering Trump’s ego then so be it.

It just goes to show how big of a star he is on the platform that might make him swing in favor of the app and save it in the end. This means avoiding removal from America. And before we forget, that’s said to take place by the end of this month as the deadline for selling off the company is January 19. If not, it’s facing a complete ban in America.

The entire Trump administration did issue a short brief to the Supreme Court for a further extension. This would provide the new President-elect more time to see other outcomes in this scenario. For now, there’s no news on that but it’s the final lifeline that TikTok has for resuming operations in America.

Still, if that does happen, Trump cannot do a lot. TikTok knows that the new president-elect has the power to make an executive decision and prevent it from getting the boot out of Americans' lives forever.

In that case, TikTok might return to America later on after Trump’s administration strikes out another deal for negotiations for the company. It’s too early to comment on any of this. It’s very unlikely that Trump will get time to spring into action so soon with a decision that is in TikTok’s favor.

Still, if that means TikTok returning to app stores in America after a short break, then there’s nothing better. Seeing Trump’s strong presence on this platform, we can assure you that it will probably be added to his top agenda when he takes oath on January 20.
