YouTube is always looking for exciting ways to better engagement for creators with their content. And the latest trial manages to do just that.
It’s a feature where creators can generate voice notes as replies in the comments section.
For now, the feature will solely be restricted to those in the US but creators around the globe can soon benefit from it too, provided the test goes as planned.
Also, the platform shared how the voice notes can only be published through the app found on iOS devices for their respective channels. Those having such features enabled can simply click on the latest soundwave icon when they reply to the comment. After that, you can record replies and even publish them as comments. Interested users can see how this feature works by visiting this link (ThioJoe YouTube channel).
Obviously, only creators have commands to add voice comments but everyone can listen to them. Users can even witness transcript buttons below the feature for reading comments in case they don’t wish to play with the voice note.
The whole goal is to experiment with a new and interactive means for engagement between both fans and creators. As you may have witnessed. YouTube was mostly focused on creating a community with exciting features for fan engagement. We even saw in March how the app began giving creators the chance to share exclusive offerings like Shorts to subscribers. Then in September, the firm launched Discord inside the creators’ channel so more people could benefit including subscribers wishing to engage in a discussion.
