X’s Net Revenue Jumped to $16.5M After Running Black Friday Promotion

Elon Musk’s X app and the Black Friday sales don’t seem to be a combo anyone would think could succeed. However, new stats shared by App Intelligence are proving that notion wrong.

X just ran a promotion on Black Friday which no social media app has ever done before. Shocking, the discount on the leading platform received a lot of interest amongst buyers. They jumped on the bandwagon for subscriptions.

Revenue soared to a whopping $16.5 million in November which is the biggest to date. Also, this is what Musk’s firm takes home after paying Google and Apple their respective fees. It’s the biggest month in terms of making revenue and nearly 27% more than that witnessed in October.

If you’re imagining that the jump has to do with Elon Musk getting involved in the election period, well, you’re slightly right. However, the majority did arise from the sales for Black Friday. The weekly net revenue report showed that during the election period, revenue was double the weekly stats seen in February. Still, that was not a huge spike.

The huge spikes arose in the same week of Black Friday followed up closely with Cyber Monday. The latter set the biggest all-time record for this platform. So as per expert estimates, only two weeks saw the app earn a little more than $12 million in net revenue.

The campaign might be over and done with but still, the revenue figures did not drop to those seen before the campaign rolled out. It’s definitely lower, hitting $700K each day but still twice what was seen before. We hope to see more rivals follow the same master plan as X in 2025.
