TikTok Leads November 2024 App Revenue Charts with $298M, Outpacing YouTube and Streaming Giants

We’re in the middle of December and that means it’s the perfect time to take a glance back at apps that made it big in terms of net revenue for November 2024.

The figures come to us thanks to stats from AppFigures who looked at global platforms on both the Play Store and App Store.

TikTok seems to be unbeatable, again! The matter is incredibly wild when you come to think of it where it was crowned the leading position despite paying its due shares of fees to Google and Apple. It earned the most revenue globally where figures stood at $298M. Interestingly, figures were 11% more than the previous month and just a short figure away from hitting the $300 million mark.

Now we have to add that this is before the mighty ban on TikTok comes into play in the US soon which might give us a drastically different picture later on. Still, you’ve got to give the app credit where it’s due.

In second place we have video streaming giant YouTube which took the second leading position but only had half as much revenue standing at $136M. The latter’s revenue fell when you look at stats from October and that might be linked to why prices for the YouTube platform surge.

The top 5 global apps making the most revenue were rounded with Disney+, Tinder, and Max. They are hailed as the top 5 apps making the greatest revenue in November this year. In case you remember, it’s the same lineup we featured for October 2024 except revenue figures are less than before.

As far as interesting surprises are concerned, it’s important to note how only two platforms from China made the list the App Store and Google Play Store. Last month, it was just one so it’s a major gain considering it’s only based in China yet featured on the global apps list!

The Audible app made the list at position 8 but it’s not shocking as growth and revenue are on the rise. Experts do predict to see it more often in the next couple of months. Lastly, it’s great to note that ChatGPT made the cut finally. This means it’s ending the year on a high and could again be featured due to its $200 price tier. It’s certainly pricey but the demand is high so people are buying.

As a whole, the top 10 list for most earning apps saw a net revenue figure of $982 million. It’s still shy of the one billion mark that developers hope for but we think that keeping in mind the upcoming festive season, they’ll easily hit that target. Stay tuned as we’ll keep you updated on that front with the next list rolling out soon. After all, what better way to spend the holidays than using apps for games, shopping, staying alert, and more.
