Threads Announces New Test Updates Including the Most Anticipated Scheduled Posts Feature

Threads is making it very clear to the world that the platform does listen to feedback from its users. The app is rolling out a series of test updates and on the list are the much anticipated scheduled posts.

The platform shared more details on this exclusive feature where users can schedule directly through its composer with simples steps. All you need to do is click on the three dots menu that’s located on the top right side of the window.

Adam Mosseri shared more on this front including how it’s been a feature in development for quite some time now. The goal is to make it so much simpler for people to plan postings on the app in case they’re running short on time.

There was also discussion about replies not being scheduled as they want to balance the whole matter out by providing more users with control on how to plan ahead but at the same time, still promote conversations and engagement in real-time.

In case you’re still wondering, the app still enabled scheduling done via third-party platforms since the start of March this year. This is when Threads shared the new API to ensure posting. However, it’s not present natively and not even in the Meta Business Suite where users can schedule content for apps like IG and FB.

Still, things are changing and who knows, we might be getting more changes there as well after Threads gets the chance to test the in-app scheduling offering. Remember, the app continues to expand at a fast pace, and from the looks of it, it’s getting near to rivaling other big contenders in the industry for attention.

The app just hit the 300M active user milestone and it’s clear that growth is on the cards in the future too. This is why small changes like these are proof to stop people from going to other apps if they can get the best services here.

Scheduling is certainly a huge need and that’s true for those who work as social media managers. Even regular creators that are busy need ways to better manage their time and with features like scheduling, they’ve got one less headache to worry about.

This is why Threads feels it’s time to add the feature natively on the app so post formatting is done right and that users link in directly through platform analytics to better their performance.

For now, all that Threads has confirmed is this being a test but we do hope trials begin shortly.
