Meta AI On Verge To Passing Next Major Milestone of 600 Million Monthly Users

Meta’s efforts to make AI a major part of its apps appear to be paying off.

The company currently stands a short step away from hitting the major milestone of 600 million monthly users. As shared by Mark Zuckerberg on his Threads account, Meta AI debuted last fall and since then, it’s managed to surpass the 500M user benchmark last month.

The latest update comes along with the rollout of Meta’s newest Llama 3.3 70B variant. As per Facebook’s parent firm, the newest text model has a very similar performance to that seen on the new model but the cost is very cheap.

As shown by the VP for Meta’s generative AI on a chart, it managed to get a score of 3.3 which is bigger on different benchmarks when compared to that seen with Google’s Gemini Pro and OpenAI’s GPT-4o.

The post shared on X speaks about the low cost and greater efficiency in delivering performance. It’s got great online optimization and other post-training methods. As far as the next leading release is concerned, it’s going to be Llama 4.

Zuckerberg shared a video through the Instagram app that spoke about the next big AI update for the year. So far, Meta’s lips are sealed about the new Llama 4 but some hints were dropped. This includes training done on more than 100K H100s with an expected release of one of the smaller Llama 4 models as early as the start of 2025.

With the news coming at a time for the latest launch of the Llama 3.3 model, it’s great to see Meta soaring to new heights and ending the year on a major high.
