Sam Altman is known for being a kind man and his recent decision to speak well about his company’s cofounder Elon Musk is proof of just that.
Altman shared how the duo might have had their differences in the past, but it does not mean he’s going to forget the greatness that Musk encompasses. Clearly, some felt this might be the olive branch that Musk was wishing for.
Being the bigger person, Altman went on to reveal some very shocking and kind things about the past he shares with Musk. This includes the great things he’s done for the world of tech, calling him a mega hero. While the feelings might not be the same as what he had in the past for the Tesla CEO, the respect still stands, he continued.
This includes discussions about the greatness of his companies and the very ambitious side that he has. That is what motivated him and many others to think outside the box and bring that ambitious blood that even he didn’t know he had.
Musk will do the right thing and I believe that, Altman says regarding the new closeness he has with President-Elect Donald Trump. He does not see Musk using political power or influence of any kind to hurt competition in the tech world and allow your business to edge over others unfairly, the OpenAI CEO adds.
It appears that Musk is grateful for all that the CEO had to say about him and his work as he appreciated the comments and liked the post published on X featuring Altman’s quote.
Remember, both leaders have been busy battling a legal dispute in court and on the internet for nearly two years now. This stems from 2018 when Musk walked out of being a board member of OpenAI. The company said no to his offer of him be the leader. This angered him and forced him to pull out future funding for the organization.
Elon Musk did drop this OpenAI lawsuit in June after meeting Altman at a tech conference in Montana. The duo shared nothing but love and hugs. Musk even filed a lawsuit later where he spoke about getting deceived into co-founding the organization and later changed that to including Microsoft as the defendant.
As per Musk, OpenAI is starving competition from getting AI talent with aggressive recruitment of employees. There’s a massive compensation at stake here and spending $1.5 billion on personnel for nearly 1500 workers does not seem to be the problem.
Ever since Donald Trump won the American Presidential elections this year, Musk is not a fan of Altman any longer. Some insiders spoke about Musk despising him. Moreover, Musk is also now far from anyone’s reach and refuses to get in contact with Altman. It’s quite clear the reason behind this all. It has to do with the fact that many of the ideologies that Altman has wouldn’t be open for acceptance to Musk.
