Streaming giant YouTube is enhancing creator features with more exciting tools for AI and editing. The new changes also include greater transparency with verification that’s done through camera-based content.
The app’s latest update on this front highlights new features from creators such as making longer Shorts content, rolling out pictures on Quiz posts for those with Android devices, and also greater access for Brand Content inside the YouTube Studio.
For starters, the app just completed rolling out a change for Shorts that can now go up to 1 to 3 minutes. You can find this inside subscription tabs, YouTube Studio, and channel pages.
The videos were organized into Shorts and on subscription pages as well as the Shorts tab for the channel and the YouTube Studio. Creators here can put out long-form content easily by taking advantage of the wider aspect ratio too.
Secondly, creators can now share and produce videos from different apps across Android and iOS. Whenever you plan on sharing videos to YouTube from other apps, you get access to creation tools on Shorts. This way, videos are trimmed, details like captions are added, and even the location and visibility are set for enhancements before they get published.
Furthermore, the app is rolling out picture options for Quiz Posts. This would be a great change as past ones were limited to text only. Moreover, you also now have the chance to include pictures of those featuring MCQ-style formats. While it’s going to be for Android devices for now, we might soon see an expansion for iOS very soon.
The app is also rolling out two new tools to make text inputs better and to produce pictures for posts. The Transform Tool can even rephrase text or customize it to generate a post. The feature is called DreamScreen which can also produce new pictures depending on the prompt added.
For now, it’s all going to be in English but support for other languages will come soon, the platform adds. And if you’re a fan of YouTube’s Brand Connect which is its self-service app, then gear up as it’s coming to all eligible creators. It will be present under the Earn tab on the YouTube Studio.
The tab enables users to sign up and access its features. It also helps in managing brand deals and gives customizable media kits with the best insights from viewers. YouTube also spoke about another exciting feature that helps creators gain insights about where content is coming from and how authentic it might be. The feature is called C2PA Disclosure for all content captured through cameras.
Last but not least, YouTube is experimenting with its latest program dubbed Open Call. Through the initiative, advertisers can request custom ads from anyone under the eligible creator domain. The goal here is to make it simpler for other businesses to work with creators and advertising content.
Most of the offerings discussed above will be released globally but the app is limiting some AI tools and BrandConnect to limited regions.
