WhatsApp is making sure users remain organized on the app and its latest launch for Lists is the perfect example.
The feature can be considered as a revamped version of Chat Filters that was first seen on the platform in April. Now, it’s getting a new name with some changes called Lists. This will allow users to not only filter chats into various categories but will also enable them to keep tabs on individual chats and those done in groups.
So you might have a conversation with your neighbor, work colleagues, partner, and loved ones all scattered before but with Lists, it’s keeping things more organized.
This is exactly how Chat Filters are used but now, WhatsApp feels the term Lists is better as the latest addition enables editing and naming the lists as compared to just putting them into different categories.
The company shared a blog post about the feature recently where it adds that Lists enable users to filter chats through custom categories of their preference. Even if it’s one for the family, workplace, or the local neighborhood, these assist in bettering focus on chats that are crucial when required.
Instead of getting filtered into different domains of the app’s likings, Lists allow users to name them as per their preference and include chats of their choice as well. This is how the name change makes more sense.
Users can produce and edit the lists as per their liking by simply clicking the + filter on the bar at the top of the Chats tab. They can even edit by long pressing on the list feature. It’s quite like favorites where users can include groups and one-on-one conversations to any list. This list would then pop up across the filter section.
It’s also a great, quick, and convenient means to manage various chats on the app. At the same time, it enables users to be up to date on every category while also keeping this a priority about what’s important and what’s not.
Users on the app can benefit from Lists starting today as the rollout has begun. WhatsApp says it’s slowly getting to everyone so do keep a lookout in the next few weeks.
