Google Messages Allows User Profile Name and Image To Show Up Unaltered When Chatting With Others

If you own an Android device, we’re sure that your go-to messaging app might be Google Messages.

It’s a great and handy platform that also gives efficient support for RCS. The company made a huge push to have RCS enter into the hands of so many people and with Apple on board, it’s a seamless experience.

Now, two main features are incorporated into the newest beta. The most significant one is having profiles pop up on different people’s phones the way it should be. Google profile name and pictures pop up without any changes while you’re in conversation with others.

We agree that it’s not perfect and restrictions do exist, you cannot deny that it’s a wonderful start. Users still have the option to rename you when they like but in regards to your profile picture, it’s going to remain the same as what you choose. Google added how due to privacy reasons, some settings will be up for grabs that limit user data being pubic to those you don’t intend to.

The settings up for grabs right now come in three forms. The first one is showing your profile to anyone you text, your contact list, and also the chance to omit any profile as a whole so it’s not shown to anyone.

Additionally, Google hopes to add a new Sending for messages as a banner which was not there before, as per 9to5G.

It’s not a whole lot of major changes but it does give more clarity in terms of chats and is just a beta. If you are interested, be sure to sign up and participate but do understand that beta software doesn’t always go as planned so it might be a little different in the end.

This even means Google Messages must be updated on a routine basis with the latest features such as double-tap clicks so you’re well ahead of everyone else in the list.

Google is really at the top of its game in this regard as it does offer timely updates to make users’ experience so much better. This is proof of just that and we hope to see changes arising with the new beta very soon.
