Google Is Working To Fully Shift Chrome OS To Android

Tech giant Google is reportedly integrating components of Android into its ChromeOS. We heard about this in June of this year and now, this news was part of a new report shared today by Android Authority.

Google shed light on how it was fully working on this migration of Chrome OS to Android which is an expansion of the plan it made during the year’s start. This means Chrome OS would now be using Android Linux and Android frameworks. One example could be the use of Bluetooth from Android into ChromeOS.

As far as why the change is happening is concerned, Google shared how it wanted to expand the speed at which AI innovation is taking place at ChromeOS core. Similarly, it wishes to make engineering simpler and assist various devices such as phones and accessories unite on Chromebooks.

From what we’ve seen officially from the company, ChromeOS will appear very similar to Android. Google hopes to continue delivering the best security, and consistency and feels that its Android systems give, and embedding that into Chrome is something users would adore. Also, the search engine giant has made it very clear that the term consistency in looks and feel suggests that most of the UI/UX will remain the same.

Google is really taking things to the next level as the report issue on this spoke about fully migrating the whole ChromeOS experience so a lot will change including desktops and launchers. Similarly, this article hints at support for a mouse, an external monitor, and an improved keyboard.

Android Authoritiy’s report says Google is keen on enabling all future Chromebook shipments to have Android OS. Now that’s a huge task but how Google markets this new change is still a mystery.

The article also shared how Google is in favor of an iPad monitor. This end result might be a platform that beats out the iPad. The latter is certainly much more user-friendly than what we find inside desktop operating systems but it’s yet to be called out as a competitor. Let’s not forget the high costs associated which would be more than a Chromebook. Google’s price points are well below that seen on Apple’s tablet.
