Google Could Soon Add New Play Store Feature That Warns Users About Low Quality Apps

If you’ve got an Android device, we’re sure you’re bombarded with tons of options on the Play Store for apps and games. But over time, you might have noticed that not every app is what it appears to be.

Some are so poor in terms of quality while others come with some serious security threats that put your privacy at risk. Furthermore, you’ll see apps that collect data. As a whole, Play Protect certainly does help users stay guarded and keep harmful apps at bay but it’s not seamless.

You’ll still encounter low-quality platforms that you regret installing in the first place. Therefore, it seems like Google might have finally answered users’ prayers in this regard. The company is working hard to ensure users receive the right warnings and alerts before they go on installing poor-quality apps filled with errors and bugs.

Finding such platforms can be very daunting and tiresome for many limited time which is why Google wants to add a new and useful feature to the Play Store that does the work for you, beforehand. This stops users from installing low-quality platforms without wasting time on reviews.

Thanks to a new report by Android Authority, we can confirm that the latest Play Store App will feature warnings for poor-quality platforms. This report, it would display warnings when users are installing any questionable app. Now there is a certain quality outlined for the platform deemed questionable. This includes apps frequently uninstalled, those that have limited user data, and also those that entail few active users compared to rival platforms.

The criteria certainly appear fair to us and we feel that such warnings are necessary on the platform’s page before installation. It also assists in stopping time wastage and downloading apps that are certainly not worth it.

Furthermore, the Play Store will soon also entail another feature that enables users to resume any canceled downloads. Dubbed Smart Resume, it will enable file retention for up to one day. So in that time frame, users can get their canceled downloads back into action.

We feel such a feature is very useful for those using mobile data for pausing installs and also for resuming it later on when linked to unlimited Wi-Fi connections.
