Gemini’s New Memory Feature Will Change Chatbots Forever—Say Goodbye to Annoying Repetitions!

Google’s Gemini chatbot is now offering a unique feature for its Advanced subscribers.

This latest feature dubbed ‘Remember’ will keep users’ interests and preferences in mind just like OpenAI's ChatGPT. Moreover, it is designed to give relevant recommendations and useful suggestions that are customized to the users’ needs.

For instance, you can tell the chatbot to remember that you don’t like something or someone and it will try to never forget that. In fact, it would be mindful for any future conversations and that means you no longer have to worry about repetition again.

Some common things worth remembering include adding language translation after a certain reply or perhaps remembering that you only eat healthy so never suggest unhealthy food recommendations.

Other commands might include using simple language and avoiding complex jargon. If that’s not enough, you can even go as far as to instruct them to reply using short sentences and nothing too long to make your life easier.

Adding the command for the chatbot to remember is also very simple. Anything and everything you ask it to do pops up in the list with the chance to edit and remove. Any saved data is accessible through the website’s Settings sidebar. For now, it’s not yet seen on any Android or iOS platforms but we do hope it will arrive soon.

Google says this new feature defines how the Gemini chatbot interacts with them. It will adapt accordingly and provide full authority over the data it saves and makes use of.

Gemini can also remember a lot of your work, interests, and more like aspirations in this world. Google frames it as providing Gemini with a user manual that is customized by the user. Doing this will provide better and more predictable replies that users don’t need to keep on reminding.

In case you’re wondering, it’s quite like the Gems feature but applicable to the whole Gemini experience. Priority access to this remembrance or memory feature is seen on Gemini Advanced for the English language at the start.
