Elon Musk Shares The Common Mistakes Most Users Make When Posting Links On X

Elon Musk is sharing with the world some inside secrets on how to publish links the right way on X.

The tech billionaire went public with how many users fail to post links correctly and therefore don’t get the reach they had envisioned. As per Musk, ‘Lazy Linking’ has become awfully common today and many were baffled as to what that really meant.

For those posting on links, you must be aware of how things don’t usually go as planned. The reach is fairly limited and that leads to great disappointment on the creator’s end. If you had Twitter, you would be familiar with how links were published to news articles and they would go viral and get a fair share of engagement. Now, the latest ‘For You’ algorithm is different and puts images and videos as top priority while content with links usually gets skipped.

As per Musk, the right way to solve the issue is simply to write out descriptions across the main post and place links inside replies. It just puts an end to lazy linking. The latter is what Musk claims to be adding links to replies instead of the usual tweets. This is what bites them in the end.

It’s very annoying for a reader and even more annoying for the creator who posted the content. Many were under the wrong assumption that the app was downranking any post with links to benefit its own pocket. But in reality, Musk says the goal is to stop those lazy links as described above.

Many are still baffled about what is so lazy about putting links in the main article and not the replies section. Interestingly, Musk has not replied yet. It’s all a little confusing and only Musk knows what the logic behind all of this might be.

The overall effect is that the X app is not useful in terms of finding links to things that are interesting to read online. It was once a standout feature for Twitter but clearly not on X. What do you think?
