2024 App Store Awards: Apple Names Top Apps and Games for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro

As the year 2024 draws to a close, Apple is sharing its top picks for the App Store Awards.

Undoubtedly, the App Store caters to millions of platforms and it can be overwhelming sometimes to select what you are really in search of. This has to do with the millions of apps on offer.

Thankfully, Apple is helping out with its picks for the best apps this year and as a whole, there are 45 finalists across 12 different domains. Each year, platforms offer the best in terms of innovation, user experience, and also design. There are specific categories for every device and a new one popping up this year which includes Vision Pro.

Apple says it’s beyond thrilled to celebrate all those who made it big and continued to deliver fantastic performance, all year round. The company’s head for the Worldwide App Store expressed their sentiments through a recent press release.

This is where the App of the Year and the Game of the Year nominations for all Apple devices were listed and we’re covering them for you below.

For iPhone, it’s Kino, Runna, and Tripsy. Kinno provides a pro video shooting effect while Runna is designed to assist athletes in planning fitness runs. Meanwhile, Tripsy is a great platform that travelers can use for their next journey. For Game of the Year on iPhones, it’s AFK Journey which is a fantasy RPG. The Were Clearner is a funny comical game about a werewolf janitor while Zenless Zone Zero is another fantasy ARPG.

For the iPads, Bluey: Let’s Play is a great interactive platform for children while Moses is designed for music edits. Procreate Dreams is an app for 2D animations. Games on iPads include Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Disney Speedstorm, and Squad Busters which are all great brawling games.

On Mac, it’s all about Adobe Lightroom making it big for image edits thanks to great AI features. Next Shapr3D is a CAD 3D design platform while OmniFocus 4 helps with managing tasks software.

For games on Mac, it’s Frostpunk 2’s city builder game and Stray which lets you play with stray cats’ mysteries. Another funny game called Thank Goodness You’re Here is very intriguing to say the least, keeping gamers hooked for long periods.
