The app rolled out a brief post explaining the latest feature that gives creators, brands, and even artists the chance to share their creativity and connect with the world. TikTok calls this a great format where connectivity and self-expression are the leading goals.
It expands the ways through which stories are made and shared through the app. While we don’t think that was necessary because as it is, the app has a host of formats to benefit from. For instance, we’ve got Stitches, LIVE, Playlists, amongst others. Now, Flip Story will be added to the list that equips creators with a second side for each story that’s unlocked via a simple flip.
As per the team at TikTok, this new Flip Story gives users the chance to engage and link with their following base. It’s exciting and surprising at the same time, not to mention the cute sneak peeks, story elements, and transformations which are just some of the many ideas to use.
Now how exactly does this Flip Story work? All you need to do is click on the + button through your app’s profile picture. This adds a new Flip Story button that enables creators to upload different sides of a story. Either capture this via the Create page or put up pictures from a device. Only pictures will have support from Flip Stories.
If you want to view the story, simply tap and press on the Hold to Flip button to showcase the hidden material. It’s going to pop up for several seconds and this way, creators will even get access to a unique viewers list that wishes to see the opposite side. Just like other content on the app, TikTok says this will need to go through a moderation process.
The latest example of the feature was celeb Billie Eilish who left her fanbase stunned with a new Flip Story on the app. It showed a before and after glimpse of her recent tour. Fans were surprised and enjoyed connecting even more with the celeb through such kinds of content on TikTok.
