More Success For OpenAI As ChatGPT Adds 50 Million Users In Just 60 Days

If you recently heard about investors planning on making big bets on OpenAI, there’s a very good reason.

The makers of ChatGPT are certainly on a roll, as the popular AI chatbot has managed to add 50 million new users in just 60 days. Certainly, the back-to-school period has proved to be fruitful as that means more research and more use of the AI bot.

The news comes after the company already shared insights about raising a mega $6.6 billion in terms of funding. Now, it’s amazing to see more than 250M (weekly active) users around the globe use the tool to improve their work, learning, as well as creativity.

It’s a massive rise since the start of August this year when the AI giant spoke about 200M weekly users. Shockingly, it’s double the figure seen in November of 2023. Then in June, 350M (monthly active) users were recorded as revealed in the company’s internal files taken by the NYT. However, it’s not yet clear if these are getting access for free or actually paying extra for paid tiers and better benefits.

Why did the number of users jump by so much in such a short period? Well, it’s back to school and the makers of ChatGPT have schools and kids to thank for that. The tool is widely popular amongst this age group when you need to complete assignments or do some extra research for your homework, perhaps.

Also, we must mention that this might be just the start of another profitable period for the company. Remember, Apple announced its mega partnership with OpenAI through Apple Intelligence. And once that comes into existence, a massive boost can again be expected. We’ll keep a lookout as the rollout starts in a few months and we advise you to do the same.
