Meta Announces New ‘Movie Gen’ AI Models That Creates And Edits Videos Using Text Prompts

Tech giant Meta is moving on to the next level of generative AI and that includes video creation.

At the moment, all AI models are generating images and text when AI prompts are fed into them. However, a new comprehensive interface will now allow users to make and edit videos similarly.

Simply feed in a text prompt and create videos and audio in seconds. As per Meta, it’s yet to be available publicly but it’s coming soon. Furthermore, the tech giant mentioned how the latest models will outperform others in the industry.

We can see this as a major leap forward in terms of innovation in the AI world. Generating media through AI was once considered a vision. Now, models like Movie Gen give you the chance to create 16-second-long videos using text. This will include a certain person depending on what is fed into the system as a prompt.

The great thing is that these models will also have a new editing feature for existing videos. With simple prompts, users can add, delete, and even replace certain aspects they don’t like in their content. While videos go up to 16 seconds, audio can similarly be created. The limit here is extended to 45 seconds.

This information gets synchronized with videos including great quality sounds, effects, and background music. Everything should blend in well to curate the perfect video.

In case you were not aware, making videos is something that has been in the pipeline for Meta for a long time now. Seeing hard work and efforts come to life for Meta is great.

The company has also boasted about how the Movie Gen will achieve the best results in certain areas such as video quality, editing, and alignment of audio with video. Meta gives most of the credit to innovations in the tech world and training data. It similarly hopes to unite with other experts in the world of media to make a lasting mark.

Meta says it’s a useful tool designed to make the lives of millions easier via simple commands. As far as the timeline on when we can expect a launch is concerned, Meta has its lips sealed. It’s too early to comment as the concept of AI video generation is very new for the world.
