Thanks to Apple Intelligence, we’re soon going to be seeing more changes arise on the App Store.
This includes a new feature that summarizes all users' reviews for each platform, making it easier to judge if the app is worth installing or not. Remember, user feedback and ratings go a long way and Apple understands that.
It confirmed how the change is in the pipeline to roll out user review summaries to the App Store before downloading begins.
Thanks to reports from 9to5Mac, Apple is working on a new system that uses reviews on App Stores to produce summary highlights. It’s one of the most common client feedback regarding a platform. As per the article, all summaries will keep getting updated whenever a new one is included.
As of right now, there is yet to be any descriptive example that proves to us how such a summary will appear. But from what we can confirm so far, it would be on the app page featuring app descriptions and screengrabs. It also appears that Apple will roll out such summaries on the internet by itself instead of relying on local sources to do the job.
The goal seems to be making lives easier for identification when apps don’t deliver what they promise on the App Store. The summaries keep getting auto-generated and as per Apple, developers can report it when they feel the review is not right.
Apps could also have a summary that puts the most common client feedback on display in user reviews. These keep getting refreshed when new ones are included. They will be present in selected countries and regions and only for those that have enough reviews to generate a reliable summary.
You can find them at the top of the product page and if you do feel it’s not right or comes with issues, there’s also a way to report the matter. You can find the summaries when apps entail certain reviews and can be seen in certain nations and regions. There are no exact details regarding when the feature goes live but the fact that it’s in the API of the App Store means it’s coming sooner than later.
Apple mentioned how it’s continuously deleting reviews and ratings that it feels are inaccurate. They confirmed processing 1.1B reviews in 2023 but then also deleted 152M fake ones at the same time.
