YouTube is giving users more insights about an expansion of its AI topics into live chat summaries and beyond.
The platform says chat summaries made through AI will now be upgraded to include live streams that it first revealed in June. Last year, we saw the app experiment with the feature on normal videos. Now, live streams can benefit from the same.
The app will display banners on top of live chats whenever users join live streams. These will be curated through published chats. But text that’s controversial or needs to be reviewed won’t be a a part of this.
The whole concept has to do with helping users get more insights about points of discussion and accessing different chat elements. Remember, AI summaries aren’t the most reliable feature but the platform says it’s great for interactions.
In other news, it’s also testing highlights for ‘Join’ that would be limited to channel memberships. Each time the creator mentions a certain phrase like ‘Join the Channel’ you get a highlight.
This will include audio and text recognition to give rise to a display which the app hopes would be simple for bettering signups. It’s only a limited feature for now but might be coming soon to greater channels in the future.
In the end, the app also hopes to launch better options for engagement through Super Chats.
A couple of months back, YouTube did test reply buttons and likes for Super Chats. This gave viewers more insights about interacting with chat communities. You feel so much more connected during a Live through this means. After getting positive feedback, it looks like they’re working on an expansion.
The Super Chat option is present on live streams as well as Premiers. This enables all viewers to buy animated stickers that highlight various backgrounds in a stream.
The app first experimented with this in January so more people could interact with creators. It also gives creators the chance to be more aware of Super Chat messages directed to them. So now, those live streaming can benefit as they have the option up for grabs so it’s similar to more live interactions.
These changes are proof of how much the platform adores making updates for greater engagement. The goal is to provide channels with more subscriptions as it helps ease the process.
