Top 10 Best-Selling Smartphones For Q2 of 2024: iPhone 15 Series Continues To Lead But Only One Galaxy Made The List

The top 10 best-selling smartphones list for Q2 of 2024 is out and it’s safe to say that Apple continues to dominate.

The iPhone 15 series was undefeated, taking the top three positions. However, it was interesting for many to note that Samsung’s mid-range devices secured a total of four positions on the list but only one of its flagship Galaxy devices could make the cut.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi was the only other leading OEM to be featured, thanks to its very cost-effective Redmi 13C 4G tech that gave rise to 1.5% of all sales for this quarter.

While there are plenty of other devices that arose during that time, consumers seem to be more drawn to iOS phones than anything else with Samsung coming second. Devices from both these leading brands managed to make the list’s top around the globe during Q2 of this year.

The results come to us thanks to a study published by Counterpoint Research. They spoke about how the best-selling device was certainly the iPhone 15 which did get the award for the best mobile phone in this quarter too.

Both Pro Max and Pro won the second and third positions getting 3.7% and 3.1% of all sales share.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s Galaxy A15 5G ranked in fourth and the A15 4G came in fourth and fifth. It was the iPhone 14 in position number six while the Galaxy A55 in seventh.

The fact that Xiaomi was able to outsell Samsung’s S24 Ultra is major news, even if that was done by a smaller margin. In last place, it was the Galaxy A05 which took up the tenth position. Another point worth mentioning is how fewer flagship models made this list this time when compared to last time.

A lot of the models were replaced by cheaper options from both Samsung and Xiaomi during Q2.

The iPhone 15 array of models did take up the majority of the top 10 list, it’s Samsung who held a greater share of the overall shipments share during the second quarter of this year.

In another report published by Canalys, it was interesting to see how this tech giant shipped close to 53M phones in the quarter which was close to 19% of the overall market share. Meanwhile, iPhone maker Apple shipped just 45 million units and captured 16% of the overall share of the market.

Xiaomi held the third position for the total shares in smartphone shipments for this quarter. This is even though only a single one of its phones made it to the top 10 list. This Chinese firm is said to have rolled out a mega 42 million shipments where market share rose to 15%. That’s a massive 27% growth witnessed when compared to the same time last year.
