Microsoft Edge PDF Reader Enhanced with Copilot AI for Smarter Document Interaction

App researcher @Leopeva64 noted that Microsoft is improving its Edge browsers PDF reader with the help of Copilot AI.

The latest change includes the addition of smart keywords generated through AI means. This enables AI to produce important keywords through PDF and then assists in topic analysis.

As it is, we see Copilot on Edge summarizing all sorts of content online. This also includes PDF documents. Now, users can open up any PDF files so there is more interaction with AI. Through such means, users can ask queries, conduct reviews, and also summarize all types of documents including whole PDF files. If there is any confusion in the document, it could be addressed there and then.

The PDF reader on Edge will gain a new and advanced feature that rolls out keywords. These might be one or two phrases and signal important content seen on a certain document. Moreover, it just makes this whole process simpler in terms of finding the right information.

As seen by one leading browser researcher, the software giant did make edges in the past to its Canary. This includes a keyword generator that used assistance from Microsoft Copilot.

Now, the PDF reader on Edge is getting something similar but will not only highlight the smart words in the document but also give users the chance to click on it to attain more information via Copilot.

For now, it’s not clear when the launch of this feature will be so everyone can access it. However, you just might be a part of the lucky few who have access to the smart AI keyword feature on Dev or the Edge Canary. The rest will just need to be a little patient as we await a full launch.
