YouTube Tests New Community Spaces Feature To Encourage More Engagement Via Text Posts

YouTube is rolling out a new test for another innovative feature called Community Spaces.

The endeavor is designed to further enhance engagement on the app and incorporate more social elements where users can engage via text posts. An example was provided on this front including how selective profiles of creators give rise to dedicated areas where fans could see text updates from their favorites and also share their respective posts.

It’s an extension of the app’s Community Posts that enables creators to put out text updates through dedicated streams.

The app launched Community Posts to the masses last year at the same time which paved the way for greater means to interact with fans. Now, it seems to be rolling an extension on that front to help with engagement on the platform.

It’s quite interesting when you come to think of it. The fact that platform is altering relationships with various elements in the world of social media to help creators get the engagement they need while also making fans happy.

With time, the app was seen to de-emphasize comments made on videos for a while, thanks to how toxic of an environment that was becoming. Some comments were a lot to handle and it just led to negative vibes which the app was able to notice immediately and hence felt another approach needed to be sought.

Community posts on the other hand give rise to more positivity and effective engagement that assists all stakeholders on YouTube.

We can see this latest expansion in that direction where interactions are promoted to another area that the entire community can gain from, ensuring YouTube gets more social now than ever.

It’s also a very valuable point for creators in terms of engagement with those who adore them and also to help with networking and creating connections through this app. The ability for a fan to publish and for a creator to generate a reply is a major update for obvious reasons. It’s a fantastic means for getting more connections and views through clips on the platform.

For now, the feature is in the testing phase with only a selected handful of creators but there are major hopes for a bigger expansion shortly so stay tuned.
