According to an app researcher named Nima Owji, X is currently working on a feature that will allow users to block link sharing under their posts. This feature will be helpful to prevent spam and also stop the spread of misinformation on the app. X users will be able to turn on the feature on their posts so other users cannot post a link in the replies.
This feature may not seem like an important feature for many casual users, but it will be important for those (particularly big influencers and creators) who frequently get spam replies and bots under their posts. It will be also helpful to keep readers directed at the actual post and not to something irrelevant to the actual post. On the other hand, it can also spread misinformation in addition to stopping the spread of it. Users won't be able to reply with links debunking the false information on a post.
There is no confirmation when this feature will be available but it seems like users are going to see it soon. Owji has predicted many X features in the past so this one seems true too. X has been also spotted adding a dislike button on the posts. It was in talks a while back too but X didn't add this feature permanently on the app. Let's see if we are going to get these two features soon.
