As we all know that AI is getting implemented in many workplaces to help humans. There were even risks about AI taking away the jobs from humans but it is not going to happen anytime soon. But nowadays a new problem has arisen and that is AI burdening employees and leading to their burnout. Upwork commissioned the survey and polled 2500 workers from different countries to find out how AI has impacted employees in their workplaces.
According to the survey, 96% of the executives want AI to boost their work productivity but many workers are struggling with making AI work efficiently. 47% of the workers who are working with AI say that they have no idea how to improve their work productivity using AI like their employees expect them to do. 77% said that using AI has increased their workload and they are no longer productive like they used to be.
In addition to that, the Upwork survey found that 40% of the employees feel that their company is asking too much from them when it comes to using AI tools. This is resulting in 71% of the employees feeling burnt out, 65% struggling to fulfill their employers’ demands and one in three employees wanting to quit their jobs in the next six months.
The survey shows that even though there are advantages of AI, there are disadvantages too. Even though AI can help in easing many processes, it can pile up the work for the employees too. The survey also suggests that using AI in outdated work models and technologies is also making employees struggle. There should be a proper organization in workplaces if employers want their workers to work productively. On the other hand, Microsoft has launched its Copilot AI which is increasing the productivity of 90% of workers and saving their time.
