TikTok Creators Can Now Upload Customized Thumbnails For Their Clips

If you’re a creator on TikTok then it’s time to celebrate!

The company is giving creators the chance to now upload customized thumbnails to all of their clips shared on the platform.

A new example was provided by social media enthusiast and expert JonahManzano who revealed how a specific frame could be selected from their videos and then used for the thumbnail. All creators need to do is press on Upload and that would provide a customized visual for the picture.

The feature is very much like that seen on CapCut where users are given the chance to include giant still picture thumbnails and then uploaded to their respective cover images online.

This new option would assist in grabbing attention to the Search seen on the profile and also provide the greatest number of standout visuals that really lure users in to click and view the content.

Clearly, all apps have proven over time how important thumbnails are to attain the best views and engagement on videos. MrBeast is one great example of how successful he is on YouTube and how much time and resources he spends to perfect that thumbnail. He admits that the right choice goes a long way in terms of getting the best views.

On average, the YouTube star spends close to $10K and he admits it’s worth it in the end, as people do get attracted to that aspect the most and then click on the content. We agree that he’s a superstar and we don’t need to go to that extreme, but this is proof from the best experts that thumbnails really do end up drawing a huge audience.

TikTok is really following the lead taken on by Reels in this regard where editing options for customized thumbnails are already present. Meanwhile, YouTube is curating a different variant of the same feature for its Shorts app after realizing the great value that it holds.

We feel this news is big for TikTok and many are now going to make the most of it. While some experts feel the value of it might not be as great as that seen on YouTube, it’s still worth using and experimenting with.

The best way is to go out and trial the feature and then monitor your performance through engagement stats. But for now, that’s all the app has to say and no other information on when the rollout is expected was revealed. We’ll keep you updated on when that happens so stay tuned!

Remember, every content creator’s goal at the end of the day is to maximize viewership. And we feel there’s nothing better than this when it comes to videos on a popular social media platform like TikTok. For now, creators can cherish the thought of having customized thumbnails on content other than Reels. How cool is that?
