The battle to reach the top of the social media ladder is heating up after a new customer satisfaction survey revealed users’ popular choices.
The competition on who reigns supreme has always fluctuated but some leaders are continuing to make gains. This latest edition featured a new finding and that includes how search engine giant Google isn't staying stagnant.
The ACSI study found that TikTok is at the top, inching past YouTube with a mighty 78 out of 100 score. Interestingly, the latter was able to hit 77, which as you can tell, is very close. Meanwhile, third place was tied between Meta's Instagram and Microsoft's LinkedIn, each hitting 76.
The satisfaction score of this app might be great for TikTok as it comes at a time when the app could soon be facing a commercial ban in the US unless it undergoes a division from its Chinese-based parent firm ByteDance.

Many in the country have painted TikTok as a serious national security threat but as per the findings from this new survey, it’s only getting more and more popular with time. YoY, its consistency is unmatched by all others and it continues to move up in terms of improvements, considering where it started in the past.
In fourth position, it’s Pinterest hit 74 while Reddit came in at 70 at number 5. Interestingly, Musk’s X and Meta’s Facebook tied with 69 at position 6 and Snapchat came in last with 68.
It’s quite clear from these statistics that when we compare the findings to those seen in the previous year, Facebook has a very mediocre score that really does look good and has enhanced with time.
There are no indicators as to what the leading Meta app is doing to get better with time but whatever it is, it’s working. Some feel it might be linked to more experiments linked to monetization but with that comes some bizarre new features being studied like fake AI art that could make the score slide further downwards. Remember, the competition is tough when you’ve got such strong arch-rivals competing with you.
Interestingly, it’s amazing how Musk’s X which was once known as Twitter has failed to push forward in terms of gain or loss. It’s at the same score, despite all the drama and chaos that surrounds the app on a routine basis.
The study rolled out on Tuesday also spoke about web search and how Google is reigning supreme with a score of 81. It’s followed up by DuckDuckGo with 79, Bing at 77, and Yahoo at 76.
The scores are clearly slight upticks from the past for search pages. But as these companies continue to make the most of AI to better search results, it appears that perhaps their hard work might be paying off as more and more users seem to be satisfied with what’s on offer.
Yes, the competition is there and the figures prove it but Google still stands strong with a massive lead of 87.5% while Bing from Microsoft comes in second with just 7.4%.
Many competitors have been raising concerns on how the Android maker makes it hard for competition to thrive due to its actions that are specific for monopoly. Google is even battling a lawsuit that alleged how it managed to attain its top spot through dominance by illegal means of grabbing market share.
We are yet to see what happens in that federal antitrust case but for now, Google is at the top of its game and the study validates just that.
