A poll by Aleyda Solis was posted on LinkedIn to know how websites are doing after new SEO updates from Google. The poll got 109 responses from SEOs and its results were somewhat surprising. According to the results, 54% of the websites were positively affected by Google updates in the last couple of years.
The question asked in the poll was how the websites you've consulted recently been positively or negatively affected by a Google update?. In comparison to 54% respondents who were positively impacted by Google update, 18% said that they were negatively affected. 25% of the respondents of the poll said that they weren't affected by Google update positively or negatively.
Google's senior search analyst also responded to the poll saying that life as an SEO or web master isn't about doom and gloom. A lot of people are working on great websites so it is important to show positives in addition to negatives. Unfortunately, most people on social media just complain but do not celebrate the wins. Keep in mind that Google keeps on changing its SEO policies and keeps updating its algorithms which affect the people working on websites.
