If you were to calculate the total value of the top 100 brands in the world, their overall worth would be somewhere in the region of $5 trillion with all things having been considered and taken into account. This value is crucial for shareholders, but in spite of the fact that this is the case, it can sometimes be rather challenging to figure out just what the true value of a brand is.
With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that Brand Finance has just published a report that ranked the most valuable brands out there at this current point in time. It turns out that Apple has the most valuable brand of all, worth around $516.6 billion, and it has seen a 73.6% growth in this value year over year. Apple also happens to own the only brand that’s worth over half a trillion dollars, with no other company coming close.
Coming in second is Microsoft, with its brand value increasing somewhat more than Apple’s at 77.7% bringing the total to a little over $340 billion. Google is close behind with $333.4 billion, although its 18.5% growth rate seems to suggest that it’s falling behind its competitor and that might make it harder for the brand to grow in the future than might have been the case otherwise.
Amazon came in fourth with slightly more than $308 billion, and it had an even lower growth rate of 3.2%. It bears mentioning that these four are the only brands that have exceeded $100 billion in value, although Samsung comes in close as it rounds off the top five with $99.4 billion. Its value decreased by 0.3%, which will be something that the Korean juggernaut would want to focus on in 2024.
Elsewhere in Asia, TikTok and ICBC are the only two other brands that don’t come from America which made it into the top ten, along with Deutsche Telekom. This just goes to show how dominant America is in terms of brand value.
