Streaming your gaming session online has become a popular pastime activity around the world. Around 70% of gamers stream their content because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up exposing them to a wider audience. 10% of gamers are so enthused by the prospect that they are willing to quit their day jobs, and 69% want streaming to be taken more seriously as an industry.
In spite of the fact that this is the case, just 51% of streamers actually earned money from their content in the past year. Those that did earn money only earned around $1,264 in the entire year, which just goes to show that it may earn you less money than might have been the case otherwise if you don’t end up playing your cards right.
With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that this is not stopping the younger generations from viewing streaming as a legitimate job. 80% of Millennials and 79% of Gen Z look at it as a form of gainful employment, and it may all just be a matter of choosing the right strategies that can lead to success.
A survey commissioned by World of Warships revealed what people think about becoming successful as a streamer. 56% of the people that responded to this survey stated that collaboration with other streamers is key. 53% said it is essential to earn money, with a little over $29,000 per year being the bare minimum in that regard.
Streaming on a regular basis was also highlighted as an important thing to do according to 48% of survey respondents. They seem to think that you should be streaming at least 22 hours per week if you want to be as successful as possible. 48% also stated that it is critical to have a sponsorship of some kind since this can provide even more income that can bolster your channel. All in all, streaming can be a viable option if all of the right moves are made by content creators.
