Brands need to diversify the manner in which they convey marketing to potential consumers, but in spite of the fact that this is the case, the people handling these marketing campaigns tend to prefer digital methods over traditional ones. This comes from a recent survey of 1,300 individuals conducted in the UK, and it revealed that 86.7% of marketers say that digital marketing is effective.
With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that 80.1% said the same about traditional marketing. This seems to suggest that digital marketing is more favored than might have been the case otherwise, and it seems like digital marketing becomes increasingly important as a company grows in size.
If we were to take a look at marketers who are working for firms that employ under 250 people, around 83.3% of them said that digital marketing provided the desired results. As for members of organizations that have more than 250 employees, 90% of them said the same with all things having been considered and taken into account.
Digital marketing is useful because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up connecting brands to a larger quantity of consumers. However, it bears mentioning that declining budgets may have a role to play in all of this. Investment into digital media has gone up by 48.3%, while at the same time, offline marketing has seen budgets decline by 25.6%.
Another factor that might be at play here is that of ease of tracking the performance of digital marketing campaigns as compared to traditional methods. Just 38.1% of the people that responded to this survey stated that they found it easy to figure out how effective traditional marketing methods were. As for digital marketing, a whopping 71.8% of survey respondents said the same.
All in all, digital marketing seems to have nowhere to go but up. It will be interesting to see what kind of impact this has on traditional media, since it is quickly being replaced by digital alternatives.
