WhatsApp is About to Introduce a New Call Shortcut and Document Banner

WhatsApp has constantly been attempting to optimize the user experience in whatever way it can manage, and it turns out that the messaging platform is about to roll out a couple of updates that can really make things more convenient. The first update that WhatsApp appears to be working on will allow users to make a call by tapping on a shortcut.

That will make calling on WhatsApp far easier than might have been the case otherwise. Previously, users would have had to go to their contact’s chat window and tap on the phone icon. Whenever this update gets released, users will have a single button that they can tap which can considerably improve calling efficiency and result in a wider adoption rate for the feature.

Users will have the ability to set the call shortcuts themselves. That can improve functionality because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up giving users a chance to customize the interface according to this preferences.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that this isn’t the only update that WhatsApp is apparently working on at present. The instant messaging platform owned by Meta is also trying to incorporate a feature that will enable users to send documents that are up to 2GB in size.

One thing to mention here is that this update is already available for most WhatsApp users, but in spite of the fact that this is the case a majority of them don’t seem to be all that aware of it. WhatsApp is therefore rolling out a banner that will inform users about the existence of the feature so that more of them start to use it with all things having been considered and taken into account.

Both of these updates indicate that WhatsApp is not going to be letting up anytime soon. The messaging platform has done a good job of keeping competitors at bay, and features like this will help it to keep its dominance in the industry.
