According to Google’s own press releases, this group has attempted to post coordinated misinformation tens of thousands of times across Google owned platforms including YouTube, Blogger and AdSesne. Google claims to have disrupted most of these instances, but it should still be mentioned that these malicious actors have tried to open upwards of 100,000 accounts so far.
That includes separate YouTube channels which is concerning because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up causing misinformation to skyrocket by orders of magnitude. This also suggests that these groups have a pretty huge operation, since such a widespread campaign requires a concerted effort as well as no shortage of funds with all things having been considered and taken into account.
