Some people believe that Metaverse might sync reality into the virtual world, much like the classic matrix, and its campaigner, Mark Zuckerberg completely agrees with the logic.
AI researcher Lex Fridman interviewed Zuckerberg, who is the founder of Meta (then Facebook) on his podcast and questioned him about when he expects people to enjoy their true experience in the new virtual world.
During the interview, Lex regarded that certain period as a singularity moment for the Metaverse, he was referring to the technological singularity theory according to which there will be a certain period when AI will overcome human intelligence, just like in the action-packed blockbuster movies like; The Terminator.
Zuckerberg during the interview explained his thoughts about Meta, that many people believe that Metaverse is just about a place, however, he believes that there will be a time when it will become our primary way of life, a place where people will invest their time heavily on.
He also claimed that many people already live in things that work out which includes the gaming culture as well as socializing experiences. He said that there will be a time when Meta will become a thing like Facebook or LinkedIn, and its audience will keep on growing.
According to a discussion between researchers that there has always been a theory according to which there will be a time when people won’t be able to differentiate between what’s real or virtual, the thin line between the two will become more blur, and that Meta will become essential to socialize just like what’s like with the internet is like today.
However, some experts do not praise the rapid enhancement of artificial intelligence technologies just like Louis Rosenberg who is also the CEO of Unanimous AI, who claims that the rapid enhancement might not be beneficial for human life in the future.
According to him, there will be a time when living in the VR world will be more important than living in the real world, which is the most horrifying fact about the VR world and AI technology.
Meta is not a new concept but has been bought in the spotlight since last year when Zuckerberg made an announcement in which he said that he plans to make a parent company under which his previous ventures will live. It has been on everyone’s thought ever since.
Other entrepreneurs such as SpaceX’s founder Elon Musk have shared negative thoughts about the new metaverse.
