Here Are the Social Media Design Trends You Should Know About in 2022

Creating a visually appealing social media post is one of the most important things for you to take into consideration when you are trying to get noticed online. Some people fail in their attempts to create effective marketing campaigns when they forget to incorporate adequate visual media because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up making their posts a little too boring for anyone to want to think about sharing.

There are a few types of aesthetics and design trends that stand out when you first start to pay attention to them. Tailwind’s recent infographic has provided a lot of context with regards to what design trends might end up becoming something worth looking into in the coming year. There are four main trends that this report has talked about, and any one of these trends could potentially enable you to take your social media profile to a whole new level that you might not have thought possible previously.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that the first of the four trends that this report touches on is the Jet Set trend. This is a highly nostalgic type of aesthetic, one that can help you create callbacks to the calmness of the mid 20th century when everything made sense to a lot of people that are out there. Retro fonts and modern lines help make this trend both fresh and nostalgic which can be a difficult combination to find mostly.

The All Organic trend is another one that you might want to think about looking into as the year continues to play out. Nature oriented colors with a muted tone can be great for evoking a sense of peace with nature. Floral patterns are also a big highlight of this design trend, and another thing about it that we feel is notable is its usage of serif fonts. Sans serif fonts started to become the trend a decade or so ago, but this trend is an example of how serif fonts are making a comeback.

Another example of a nostalgic design trend is Vivid Dreams. This trend draws on 90s era influences and it embraces the bright colors and designs that many had started to think were tacky in the early 2000s. It made sense that people started to move away from the simple designs of the 90s as they started to expand their horizons, but many people that grew up during that decade will feel quite relaxed when they see revisit their childhood with this design trend.

The final trend, Look to the Future, abandons nostalgia in favor of trying to predict what comes next and reveling in the now. It involves the use of soft, almost ephemeral gradients coupled with a distinct disregard for lines and edges. In fact, this design trend often dispenses with straight lines entirely and instead tries to go for odd shapes. Minimalism might not be in vogue anymore as design trends start to become increasingly maximal, and chances are that this trend will be among the most influential in 2022 if all trends continue in this direction.
