Working from home has ended up becoming a massive trend over the past two years with lockdowns often preventing employees from being able to go to the office in the first place. The thing about this change is that it has helped boost productivity as well as make it so that employees can enjoy a much more positive between work and home life to one extent or another.
With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that there are a few obstacles that remote workers are facing. One such obstacle is slow internet. Corporations often have high speed internet that is only available to commercial clients, and suffice it to say that this is not something that remote workers are going to be able to rely on while they are working from the confines of their residence.
About 80% of workers feel that this is hampering their ability to work effectively according to a survey conducted by HighSpeedInternet. What’s more is that 67% of employees say that it is the responsibility of their employer to pay for the faster internet that they require because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up making it cheaper for employees to afford such internet speeds. That is understandable when you consider just how expensive enterprise level speeds can be for the average person.
There is also a major problem that many remote workers are experiencing with regards to separating their work life from their home life. The home has historically been a place for relaxation and this has resulted in lots of remote workers procrastinating especially when back to back meetings end up becoming really stressful and the demands of the home start to get in the way of them finishing their daily tasks.
