Apple is one of the most profitable companies in the world, and it was the first company to reach a trillion dollar valuation when looking at the total shares that its owners possess as well as those that are still available on various stock markets. The tech giant’s main product has been its smartphone line, but in 2020 its array of personal computers started to get a lot more attention thanks to the launch of their M1 processing chip.
The launch of the M1 chip was a watershed moment because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up turning Apple’s personal computers into some of the most powerful pieces of tech in the world. That paid off handsomely for the corporation since they managed to sell 29 million units in 2021, as per Canalys data. This represents a whopping 28% increase than what was seen in the previous year and it will be interesting to see if this growth continues in 2022.
Some might say that other computer companies are doing better, such as Lenovo which managed to sell well over 80 million units in 2021. With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that while Apple isn’t winning out in terms of pure sales, its rate of growth is far higher than what any other computer manufacturer has been able to measure up to and such levels of growth are what matter most.
Now that Apple has rolled out the M1 Max and M1 Pro, there is a strong likelihood that its rate of growth will continue to increase in 2022 with all things having been considered and taken into account. Its MacBook Air is about as affordable as comparable Windows laptops and it has similar specs too which has made a lot of people consider buying a Mac for the very first time thereby boosting sales for the company.
