TikTok took the crown this year and became the leading domain. It doesn’t come off as a surprise considering how well the short video app is doing since its launch. The Chinese brand video sharing App defeated big names like Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Netflix in the crown race. TikTok's peak days were between September to December and in the end, TikTok won the race and took the lead. TikTok first gain peak for this year was on February 17, 2021, which was only for one day, then in March, followed by June, and permanently to the top of the list was from late August 2021.
Last year in 2020, Google (which includes all its franchises like Maps, Photos etc.) was the number one app and TikTok was on the number seventh spot.
TikTok is a short video uploading platform, where users can upload up to 180 seconds or three minutes of video. The app helps creators in making productive and valuable topics videos and being focused on creativity.
The short video app was created almost 5 years ago in 2016 and since then it has gained massive popularity. Over the years not only has it reached the top in many categories but also has maintained its position up there.
