The new operating system coming out of Microsoft has generated a fair amount of buzz, and the market share that this platform has been seeing is an indication that it might be extremely popular in the coming years. Right now the most popular version of Windows is Windows 10, specifically the 21H1 update which has a 38.1% share of the total Windows market.
With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that Windows 11 is not seeing close to this number since it only has a 1.3% share of the overall Windows market. However, this is not as bad as it might seem with all things having been considered and taken into account. After all, the operating system has yet to be fully launched, and its market share has gone up from 0.9% which was in and of itself a strong sign of popularity in the future.
This comes from data released by AdDuplex, and the fact that Windows 11 is growing in its market share and that the rest of the market is dominated by Windows 10 shows that newer versions of the operating system are becoming the standard. This is a changeup from what was seen in the days of Windows 8 when many users heavily criticized the operating system as being inferior to Windows 7 and many if not most of them chose to stick with Windows 7 until Windows 10 was launched.
It has been a bit of a theme for Microsoft to release a great operating system followed by a terrible one. Just see Windows XP which was followed by the rather awful Windows Vista for an example. Windows 11 might manage to break this streak which is certainly great for the company as it would secure its position as the leading operating system provider in the world.
