It seems like every time Apple releases a new iPhone it ends up turning into something or the other that would get its user base enormously excited, but with all of that having been said and now out of the way it is important to note that the iPhone 13 doesn’t seem to be getting greeted with the same level of excitement as new iPhones of days gone by.
SellCell conducted a survey where they polled Apple users about their thoughts surrounding the new iPhone and it turns out that over 64% of users said that they were not excited by the new iPhone at all. 14.4% said that they were very excited, which is a very low number indeed with all things having been considered and taken into account. Also, 21.5% of respondents said that they were moderately excited about the prospect of a new iPhone hitting the market.
What’s more is that only 23.2% of the people that were surveyed who currently own iPhones said that they plan on buying the latest model of their phone. For one thing, people seem to be upset about the fact that there is no touch ID which seems to be a highly desirable feature among most people. 29.3% of people who did not want to upgrade said that this was the reason, and a further 19.5% said that they didn’t think that there were any new features that would make it reasonable for them to want to upgrade in the first place.
It’s highly likely that next year’s iPhone is going to be the one that generates a super cycle for Apple, especially when you take into account the fact that it will likely have lots more features. Apple might have to deal with slightly lower sales this year, although this survey is not necessarily indicative of actual market conditions
