The world is changing at a really fast pace and along with it the global trends and aesthetics are changing as well. Everyday there is a new trend, aesthetic or something new viral and sometimes it's hard to keep a pace with them considering how quickly and constantly they are changing. However, if you want to keep up with all the aesthetic trends and understand them completely and can't figure out from where to do this, don't worry because YouTube is here for your rescue.
YouTube recently collaborated with Polygraph which is a visual storytelling studio and released a culture and trends report highlighting six of the most famous aesthetic trends that exists.
These six aesthetic trends include Dark Academia, Cottage Core, Bard core, Royalty Core, Dream core and Y2K, and the tech giant has given an overview of each trend in their report and also has provided links for relevant videos which define the category well enough.
This is a great initiative by YouTube because apart from just making users understand about each trend the social giant has provided statistics of these trends over the years highlighting which of these trends were popular, when and among what age group and also has broken down the trend into subcategories they were mostly found in for example music, lifestyle, gaming etc. to give people an overview of what that trending era must have looked like and what percentage of the current users are interested in which trends.
While this overview will help people keep up with the ongoing and relatively quick changing trends, it will also help businesses in understanding their audience choices and what age groups are interested in which type of content which eventually will make it easier for them to plan their marketing.
It is wonderful how trends have changed over the years and how each era has its own unique sense of aesthetic, and while it is great that we are moving on with the world, holding onto aesthetics from the past and incorporating them into trends of today is amazing and we are glad YouTube is helping people understand cool trends that may die down if aren't communicated across properly and hence eventually keeping them alive.
If you are interested in educating yourself with anyone these trends, you can head over to the YouTube report.
