Messaging apps have become most important part of our daily lives.
Since couple of months, Telegram and Signal received a huge popularity among users. Back in January 2021, when WhatsApp announced its new update of getting access to user’s information, people started looking forward to other similar apps. Whatsoever, WhatsApp still manages to be the top most instant messaging app. Photos and Video files seems to be compressed whenever sent via WhatsApp or to avoid compression separate document file should be sent. But the recent update is going to change this functionality.
A recent beta release indicated that some impending video compaction enhancements are coming, and it appears that the similar features would also apply on photos as well. According to WABetaInfo, the older WhatsApp version disclosed the expanded options for adjusting the quality of videos, and now this update extended those options to images as well.
The three options available for videos include Auto, Best Quality, and Data Saver are now also accessible for photos as well. On sluggish network connectivity, "Auto" is the preferred option, which apparently just keeps sending videos as compressed files. "Data saver" is ideal for individuals who want to send movies without exceeding their monthly data limit. WhatsApp users, on the other hand, were already longing for "best quality" for years. Presently, the only option to share high-resolution movies is to add them to a document.
For now, it is still in WhatsApp beta, but as soon as it becomes available to all the users, they can use these options to modify videos as well as images. In settings, go to Storage and Data then Media upload Quality to change the quality of media files before sending. This Media Upload Quality section is currently not available in any version of WhatsApp.
None of these features are accessible to public as they are still in progress. However, it is uncertain that the best quality feature would make any difference or not and it is suggested to wait till it becomes available.
