YouTube has finally introduced one of the most requested features 5.1 Dolby surround sound audio functionality as well as a special "4K Plus" service package.
The 4K plus premium package not only allow users to watch videos in 4K but also enables them to download the videos from their DVR to enjoy it in offline mode. Users can also watch indefinite live streams at once as in previous settings they were allowed to watch only three streams consecutively.
YouTube TV 4K plus will charge additional $19.99 each month along with the existing $64.99 charged monthly. YouTube also provided promotional deal for the new YouTube TV users who can avail the new 4K plus for $9.99 per month. This deal will be available only for the first 12 months and is limited to new users only.
Website claims that 4K Plus users would be able to experience massive sporting activities throughout summer in 4K, as well as live video from channels notably NBC. Sports such as college football and basket ball will be available at the end of the year. Channels like Tastemade, Discovery, and FX would feature most requested content for the users in this new functionality. YouTube has also revealed initiatives for 4K videos in the beginning of the year.
On Monday, YouTube's chief product director, Neal Mohan unveiled the functionality claiming that with the most suitable 4K supported TV or streaming technology, users can experience content possibly in the best of resolutions that can provide wholesome moments.
As per Mohan, 5.1 Dolby audio feature will be release for certain devices in the coming months and all the customers will get the access to it. A YouTube representative claimed that smart TVs would be the ones to get 5.1 Dolby compatibility, accompanied by many other devices, although it is not known that which brands or versions will be included. As the launch begins, a catalog of compatible devices will be available on YouTube TV's help website, according to the spokesman.
Furthermore, YouTube is also focusing to incorporate more convenient features to enhance the overall experience of watching sports.
